VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE

The Beetle can rightly claim to be a true automotive icon. First seen in 1938 the original Beetle was the 'people's car', with more than 21.5 million Beetles sold worldwide. Replacing an icon is never easy though. Volkswagen brought back the Beetle with a look that's in line with the original Beetle of the 1930s. The interior harks back to the old model with a flat dashboard and the recognisable flip-up glovebox built into it. Practicality is much improved with a large boot and more interior room too. Overall quality and refinement is a huge step forward with sharper handling, a hugely improved ride and better steering. It also has the excellent Volkswagen 1.4 litre TSI engine. The motor is smooth and has an admirably flat torque curve. Cruising refinement is accomplished, if you switch to back roads you will enjoy light steering and a relatively long-throw gearshift. The amazing pan roof brings so much light into the car. A full service history also compliments this car
